Led by trustee Ina Harris, the Heritage Open Days were a huge success again this year with more than 600 people turning up to show their support over the three afternoons. The weather was a little wet and windy but we still did exceptionally well on merchandise and the wonderful tea room, with takings overall of £1,310.95. Some were first time visitors and 249 signed our support form, 150 of which were BA1 and BA2 post codes which sends a powerful message to the Heritage Lottery Fund that we have plenty of local support.
This was the first time the Cleveland Pools Trust has entered the Bath Boules. We teamed up with Savills Bath who are supporting our marketing this year, and four of them wore top hats and moustaches to emulate our Victorian swimming proprietor 'Captain Evans'.
We won 4 of our 7 matches and were only one point away from being in the quarter-finals. We also connected with a few former swimmers who engaged with us to tell their stories of their childhood days at the Pools.
Altogether a very satisfying and enjoyable day and we are already looking forward to next year!
Nb: This event raised over £50k for charity.
